Linking travelers to spectacular scenery through personal-touch planning, up-to-date expertise, and value-added experiences!
About me
I grew up in a small town in West Virginia in a valley surrounded by mountains and I guess that’s where my love for natural beauty started. It is my goal with Scenic Connections to link travelers to spectacular scenery through personal-touch planning, up-to-date expertise, and value-added experiences!

I have always loved to research destinations and plan vacation itineraries! I strive to find those unique experiences that really make a vacation special. I work hard to get to know my clients because “special” can mean different things to different people. And I’m a firm believer that quality is in the details, and that is something I bring to each trip I plan. I walk through every step of every itinerary in my mind to ensure that my clients experience a smooth and stress-free vacation.

My ideal clients are those leisure travelers who are empty-nesters and retirees looking to go and see, experience something new, and learn more about the places they visit. I love to help with bucket-list destinations that feature spectacular scenery! Of course, I'm always happy to help anyone who is looking for a little rest, relaxation, and romance, too!
Why I love my job
When I look back on my life, it is clear to see that travel, education, and helping others has always been a part of who I am. My childhood dream was to become a travel writer, which I also currently do on the side. As a teenager, I was an international exchange student, spending a year with a host family in Venezuela through AFS Intercultural Programs. After graduation from the University of Georgia, I spent 12 years in the journalism field, writing and editing for both a newspaper and a national trade publication. I later became a Spanish teacher for 12 years in my local school district, sharing my experiences in the hopes of inspiring young people. And I have worked most recently to support and help volunteers and families build relationships with students from other countries through the same organization I traveled with years before. The career paths I have taken have finally led me to what I am truly passionate about -- researching and planning travel for others as well as writing about it!!
Favorite Destinations
One of my favorite destinations is western Canada because the scenery is awe-inspiring and it is so exciting to see wildlife up close in its natural habitat! For similar reasons, I love Alaska as well. Beyond North America, I also love Switzerland, Germany, Austria, again because of the mountains. Ireland is another favorite, but mostly because it's just plain fun to visit!
About my most memorable vacation
My most memorable vacation was on the Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Banff in western Canada. While the scenery on the train ride topped the list, we also enjoyed the Columbia Icefields Parkway and nearby Canadian National Parks. And the wildlife... wow!
