Dreamweavers: creating unique recipes for life-changing travel.
About me
We moved around a lot when I was growing up and traveling became my way of being comfortable living in one spot for our kids. The ability to see and explore new places and meet new people, while maintaining the stability of "home" is the best of both worlds. I watched many people in my life wait.. wait until the kids are grown, wait until retirement, wait until there's more money, wait until there's more time - only to have life interfere and the time to travel never arrives. We choose to travel with our kids, without our kids, with friends, as a couple, domestically and internationally. Travel as much as possible while we are able to do so. Some trips are small and costs very little money and others have been larger, as we were able. For me, it is just important that people get out and explore the world. Since I also love to read, one of my favorite quotes is "The World is a book and those who do not travel read only a page" by St. Augustine. I want to be the librarian that helps many people read lots of pages.
Why I love my job
I absolutely love talking about travel and researching travel and helping to make people's dreams around travel a reality. My favorite thing is fulfilling bucket lists, whether as a small part of a larger trip or as the whole trip itself being a bucket list trip. It is fun to hear people share their vision of their trip - where they want to go and why and what type of experience they want to have and the memories they want to take away. I take all that information and weave it together to create travel that is talked about for many years to come.
Favorite Destinations
My favorite country is Italy. I love the food, the wine, the land, the culture, the people. My favorite city is Paris. I love that Parisians work hard and then play hard. They know how to relax and enjoy the moment. My favorite experience is a safari. It is life changing. I have been on 3 now and words cannot describe how awe inspiring it is to see these amazing animals in their natural habitat
About my most memorable vacation
I took a group of Girl Scouts to Tanzania where we experienced safaris and met many local people. We did a volunteer project with Days for Girls and interacted with several schools, some Masai tribes, a Hadzabi tribe and some women from a village near Arusha. One of our girls cried when we first came upon some lions - that was her life long dream and reason for joining the trip - and Girl Scouts helped make that happen for her. It was very cool to be a part of that.
