About me
In 2003, my own travel agent talked me into turning my love for travel into my vocation. I jumped at the opportunity to work with her (having been a successful agent for over 40 years) and to learn from her. In 2007 and after sharing her amazing knowledge with me she decided to retire and told me I was ready to continue this adventure on my own. I wil always be grateful for her belief in me. In 2003 with an "Empty Nest" my husband and I moved from the Jersey Shore to Clearwater, FL where we could enjoy our love for water activities and the sun/beach year round. We both started new jobs in FL but I also spent my time learning the travel business form the agent side. At the end of 2011, we decided it was time to make the move to a full-time travel opportuniy, allowing me to work with my clients daily. The travel industry continues to evolve and now I can attend conferences/trainings and enjoy better working relationsips with travel suppliers/vendors. All of this allows me to provide the best knowledge and expertise my clients deserve.
Why I love my job
I love the travel business because not I myself love the opportunity to see the world and experience new cultures, meet new people and forging friendships. By being in the travel business allows me the opportunity to be aware of the world around me - old and new. I also love being a part of the helping others plan their vacations and to experience the world around them. It also affords me the opportunity (through my clients) to learn about places I may not be able to visit personally. As much as we all would love to have the opportunity to travel the world and see everything there is to see, that of course is not feasible. So by working with my clients and assisting them in planning their vacations, allows me the opportunity to particpate in their adventures through their eyes of those parts of the world, I have not experienced personally.
Favorite Destinations
New destinations will always be my favorite "destination." But there are a few places that we (my husband, and family) like to return to when we just want the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other. Those destinations will always be anywhere a cruise will take us. But also a quiet cabin in the mountains. Then there is our ultimate favorite "River Cruising" or a guided tour visiting the scenery that Old Europe or the country side of Ireland, England, etc. To keep my husband happy, we venture on "Fishing" trips, to Alaska or just the fun of touring Alaska either on our own or enjoying a combination cruise and land tour. Cruising anywhere in the Caribbean is a favorite past time, we love the different itineraries and sometimes we just enjoy the cruising part and never leave the ship.
About my most memorable vacation
Our most recent vacation was one that was not far away but going back home to enjoy our family. Being from the Jersey Shore, we had to sit back and watch all the devistation the Jersey Shore area suffered recently. So in June we back - rented a house on the Atlantic Ocean in Seaside Park that we shared with our two daughters and their families (which included 5 grandkids aged from 7 to 15 months. Our girls both worked in Seaside in high school and college as life guards and while we were there this past June our oldest daughter turned 40. It was her wish for us all to be there to celebrate together (they now live in Chicago and our other daughter and family live in FL.) It was 14 days of fun and very little rest but spending time with our most precious family members and old friends. We travel to far off places whenever we can and have had fantastic adventures. Alaska (cruising and touring inland Alaska,) cruising the Caribbean, a tour of the mountains of Germany but also know that a great vacation visiting any of the multitude of National Parks, beaches, cities, etc. in the US can be as exciting and even romantic as anywhere else in the world. It just takes finding what is right for the special couple or family.
