About me

My passion for travel started at a very young age when I first moved from New York City to Minnesota. At age twelve, I lived in Poitiers, France for a year, being immersed in the culture and attended a regular French school when I first arrived and finished in a class for foreign students, where I met kids from all over of the world. During that year, I traveled to different parts of France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Travel provides an amazing opportunity to learn and as an educator, I truly believe in continuing my education. As such, I regularly attend and participate in many international and domestic trade shows, seminars and meetings which better enables me to keep up on the latest trends. Having been a member of several panel discussions, I have been able to provide insight on destinations, travel styles and how to work with a travel professional. Connecting and re-connecting with tour operators, hoteliers, trade organizations and other travel suppliers and building these relationships and partnerships with the locals, allow me to create more personalized experiences, incorporating the traditions of these destinations.

Why I love my job

I have more than 25 years of experience arranging leisure travel and started Wandering Puffin, my own travel agency, currently in its 16th year. Having completed many destination specialist programs both in the United States and abroad has enhanced my knowledge, allowing me to develop professional relationships and gain access to many resources. With this I am able to provide you the best value and expertise for your next travel adventure. Distance is not a problem as I have clients from all over the US as well as Canada, Europe and Australia.
Whether your interests include castle stays in Ireland, golfing in Scotland, cruising the Fjords of Norway, walking the historic beaches of Normandy, Europe's history and culture offers many opportunities to fulfill your discriminating palate. Being a foodie and former chef, I can lend my expertise in planning a wine or culinary experience in France, enjoying Oktoberfest in Germany, or wandering the backroads of Tuscany. Your customized travel adventure will be as unique as you are.
As a travel professional and former educator, I pride myself in giving each and every client the time they deserve to make sure that their expectations are exceeded. From the initial consultation, to the follow up after your adventure and everything in between, I will be there through the whole process addressing all questions and concerns, so let me know how I can arrange your next adventure to Europe and beyond.

Favorite Destinations

There are three magical destinations for me. The first is Iceland, a place I have been 20 times, the second is Hungary, a country in which I have ancestry and have experienced at least a half dozen times. The third, but most important is Italy, a place I have also been at least a half a dozen times, but the main reason is my fiance is a Roman and that is now where I find myself more often than not, including having lived there this past summer. These destinations are very different and as such are magical in different ways. Call me and I will not only draw you a picture of these amazing destinations; I will draw you into them and show you why they are amazing.

About my most memorable vacation

Before Covid, I had an amazing year of travel with adding Argentina, Brazil and Malta to the experiences I love to share and more to come. The year before that, included experiences in Singapore, Malaysia, Cyprus, Bermuda. A return to Iceland is always in the works and I will return to do a self-drive this month and a return to the Faroe Islands after a 4-year absence. While Toti is no longer with us, his spirit is always there. More recently, I have returned to Barcelona, Iceland, the UK and Italy and will return to Portugal, Spain and France this year.

I was traveling solo and had lots of questions and was feeling overwhelmed by the whole process. Jamie made me feel comfortable about the trip. My itinerary was laid out for me on a daily basis I knew what I was doing and where I was going. I had a awesome time and since then he has booked everyone of my trips. I have now gone to 11 countries and looking forward to my next trip. I would highly recommend Jamie for his knowledge and professionalism.

My recent trip to Spain didn_`t go as well as planned. I developed a blood clot in my leg and lungs. I wound up spending a week in the hospital . I reached out to him and told him what was going on. He immediatly contacted the travel insurance company and got a claim started for me. He also contacted the hotel I was staying at and advised them i was in the hospital and would need to extend my stay. Jamie kept in constant contact with me and rebooked my new flight back to the states. I have always enjoyed working with Jamie in arranging my trips. His knowledge and professionalism is outstanding. As always, I look forward to work with him on my next trip.
