Senior Vice President, Head of Human Resources, AAA

Ronald J. Arigo joined AAA Northeast in August 2019 to lead Human Resources for this iconic consumer brand, with 3,500 employees, in more than 100 locations. AAA is a mission-driven organization that prides itself on delivering a myriad of products in the areas of financial services, insurance, travel and roadside assistance while prioritizing safety, quality and consistency.

Previously, he served as Chief Human Resources Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In this position, Ron led the Human Resources function, for the Executive branch, and was accountable for enterprise-wide recruitment, development and retention of talent. As well as managing collective bargaining and labor relations for thirteen unions; workers’ compensation for approximately 100,000 state employees; compensation, payroll and benefits administration; and diversity and inclusion strategies.   
 
Prior to his appointment to the Commonwealth, Ron was an executive with New Jersey-based Chubb, Inc. for 28 years. At Chubb, he held a variety of leadership positions including underwriting, marketing, and profit center management. He was one of Chubb’s most senior human resource executives and played an integral role in the development and execution of HR strategies that positively impacted the company’s industry leading profitability.
 
In HR, Ron served as Senior Vice President of Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, as the Chief Learning Officer where he was responsible for the company’s global learning platform. Additionally, he managed Chubb’s HR global operations including budget, payroll, HRIS and its outsourcing arrangements. Prior to these global corporate-based positions, he was responsible for human resources for U.S. branch profit center operations, including the company’s wholly owned insurance agency, Chubb Insurance Solutions accounting for more than $5 billion in revenue. 
 
Mr. Arigo has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boston College and a Master’s of Business Administration from Boston University’s Executive MBA program. In addition, his executive education includes Harvard University’s Strategic Human Resources Management Program, and The Corporate Leadership Council’s HR Leadership Academy. 
 
Ron is active in the Boston-area with board involvement in various non-profit and professional organizations including, Youth Enrichment Services (YES); The American Heart Association; President of The Human Resources Leadership Forum and Co-Governing Chair of the Boston CHRO Summit.
