Health & Safety Guidelines

Updated: September 29th, 2021

ASTA is committed to providing all attendees with a safe experience during our in-person events. As of October 1st, 2021, ASTA requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to attend our events or a negative COVID-19 PCR test 72 hours prior to the start of the event

This page will be updated frequently and will include information about how we're working to keep you safe. By registering for an ASTA Event, attendees will be asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions set forth by ASTA.

Must Know Information
Proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or negative PCR COVID test taken no more than 72 hours prior is required to attend any ASTA events. Proof of vaccination or negative test will be collected upon arrival at the event venue. A clear photo of your vaccination card or test results are acceptable.
- One is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after the second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine.
- ASTA anticipates following CDC guidance with respect to vaccine boosters. Please note that currently, the CDC recommends that a booster shot be obtained within eight months of initial vaccination for both Pfizer and Moderna vaccine recipients.
- Individuals who are unable or unwilling to provide proof of vaccination on site or provide a negative COVID PCR test no more than 72 hours prior described above will not be permitted to attend the event.

With the exception of eating, drinking or swimming, the wearing of masks is mandatory at all times during ASTA-sponsored events. This is inclusive of registration, sessions, receptions, tours and tradeshow (where applicable). Depending on the location of the Educational Journey, we require ASTA members to follow mask mandate regulations in place.

Although obtaining a COVID-19 test prior to the event is not required to attend if you are fully vaccinated, we respectfully encourage it in the interest of the health and safety of the attending travel advisors and our staff. Please note: COVID-19 testing requirements differ based on the location you are traveling. You must adhere to any testing guidelines in place.

Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the three months prior to the event should not attend an ASTA event in-person unless he/she has been cleared for travel by a health care provider.

All attendees will be required to sign a liability waiver during registration or prior to attending.

We strongly urge all attendees to adhere to the recommended safety protocols, including frequent handwashing and maintaining a six-foot distance from other attendees. Feel free to give as many air high-fives and waves as you want!

Posting photos or videos on social media is a great way to show your audience how to safely travel! If you document any part of your journey to, during, and from any of ASTA’s events, please make sure your social media posts reflect that you are observing health and safety practices such as social distancing and wearing a mask.
