Join ASTA’s Advocacy team for this webinar to help you make the most of your conversations at Legislative Day. We'll walk you through event logistics, brief you on the policy issues we'll be presenting and prepare you for your virtual meetings with your Members of Congress.

Your attendance at this webinar is mandatory. If you are unable to attend live, please watch the recording before arriving at Legislative Day.

Morning ASTA Committee and Council Meetings
 
All event components will take place at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. unless stated otherwise. 
5:30–6:30 PM Welcome Reception  
Join us for the ASTA Legislative Day Welcome Reception to network with peers you haven't seen in over a year! Featuring the presentation of the sixth annual Global Travel Advocate Awards to Members of Congress who have championed the travel agency industry, you won't want to miss this!
 
 
Evening VIP Evening Activity  
With so much to see and do in DC, we're curating a VIP experience for all attendees to participate in right after our Welcome Reception. More information coming soon!
 
 
     
 WEDNESDAY, MAY 19 — ASTA Legislative Day
8:15–8:45 AM Breakfast, Networking, and Prep
This informal breakfast will give you a chance to meet and spend time with the people you’ll be virtually or personally walking the Hill with as well as to ask questions about your schedule or anything else related to Legislative Day.

8:45–9:30 AM Advocacy 101/Virtual Meeting Logistics
This session will review the basics for our hybrid format Congressional “fly-in.” Our panel of Congressional staff and advocacy professionals will address these issues and cover the ingredients for a successful virtual Congressional meeting: what to do and what not to do in meetings, what messages resonate the most and how to ensure your issues rise to the top.
 
 
9:30–10:15 AM Drilling Down on the Issues
After we’ve covered the blocking and tackling of your virtual Congressional meetings, we’ll get into the policy weeds. In part two of our training, ASTA’s government relations experts provide the latest intelligence and key messages on the issues attendees will discuss in their Congressional meetings.
 
 
10:30–12:30 PM Congressional Meetings
Meetings with Members of the House of Representatives, Senate and/or staff. Most meetings will take place virtually from the Park Hyatt, but, each attendee will receive individualized meeting schedules before the event. Your team lead will guide you and your delegation through your meetings. 
 
 
12:30–1:30 PM Lunch Break
Attendees will be provided gift cards to purchase lunch on property or at nearby dining options. 
 
 
1:30–2:30 PM Keynote Speaker 
Join us for an inspiring keynote presentation from a prestigious, well-known political authority to address our members. To be announced soon!
 
 
2:30–4:30 PM Congressional Meetings
Meetings with Members of the House of Representatives, Senate and/or staff. Most meetings will take place virtually from the Park Hyatt, but, each attendee will receive individualized meeting schedules before the event. Your team lead will guide you and your delegation through your meetings. 
 
 
4:30–5:00 PM How to Make Advocacy a Year-Round Activity 
Lobbying is a year-round activity. Learn how to keep the momentum going and engage with your Members of Congress the other 364 days a year. We’ll share practical ideas for ways you can continue to build relationships and influence policy throughout the year, right from the comfort of your home.
 

5:00–6:30 PM Closing Dinner (immediately following appointments)
Join us at the conclusion of Legislative Day for our inaugural Closing Dinner! Enjoy dinner while networking with peers and partners, recapping the successes of the day, and hear from ASTA's leadership and advocacy team on the path forward for our industry.
