Health & Safety Guidelines
Updated: April 16, 2021
ASTA is committed to providing all attendees with a safe experience during our in-person events. This page will be updated frequently and will include information about how we're working to keep you safe. By registering for an ASTA Event, attendees will be asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions set forth by ASTA.
*NEW* Health and Safety Guidelines Update: The Government of the District of Columbia’s current travel guidance (which can be accessed here) provide that visitors from outside the city should obtain a PCR or antigen test for COVID-19 within 72 hours before traveling. The testing requirement is waived for individuals who have been fully vaccinated and do not have COVID-19 symptoms or who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days and no longer have symptoms.
Travelers arriving from “low-risk” states or territories (currently Arizona, Arkansas, California, Guam, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Mariana Islands, Oregon and the U.S. Virgin Islands) or the neighboring states of Maryland or Virginia are also exempt.
Although you may not be required to show proof of testing or vaccination upon arrival or when checking into the hotel, we encourage attendees to abide by these recommendations.
Please also note that the D.C. Government is expected to release updated travel guidance on or around May 1, so some of the above requirements may change.

Must Know Information
With the exception of eating, drinking or swimming, the wearing of masks is mandatory at all times during ASTA-sponsored events. This is inclusive of registration, sessions, receptions, tours and tradeshow (where applicable).
Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the three months prior to the event should not attend an ASTA event in-person unless he/she has been cleared for travel by a health care provider.
All attendees will be required to sign a liability waiver during registration or prior to attending.
We strongly urge all attendees to adhere to the recommended safety protocols, including frequent handwashing and maintaining a six-foot distance from other attendees. Feel free to give as many air high-fives and waves as you want!
Posting photos or videos on social media is a great way to show your audience how to safely travel! If you document any part of your journey to, during, and from any of ASTA’s events, please make sure your social media posts reflect that you are observing health and safety practices such as social distancing and wearing a mask.
